A 17 year old student at Ferndown Upper School who aims to work overseas teaching English as a foreign language, has received a bursary to cover the cost of a Level 5 TEFL Diploma.
She is an outstanding student and has worked with several international students during their placements in school. She is keen to support local communities and also aims to teach international students in the UK.

The John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation (JTYAF) was set up in memory of John Thornton who was tragically killed in Afghanistan in 2008.
The JTYAF provides opportunities for young people to help them to develop as individuals and fulfil their ambitions in life as John was able to do.
