A 15 year old student at Wey Valley Academy has recently sent us a report about his expedition to the Quantocks for his Duke of Edinburgh’s Silver Award.

I am writing to thank you for the bursary and to let you know how I got on.

Our expedition took place 17th-19th April in the Quantocks where we were remotely supervised to do our walks and set up our camps at a different site each day. We walked 45.8 Km passing through some interesting locations with good views over the surrounding area. …..

I was in charge of the compass and successfully managed to navigate the team to the correct destination without any problems.

I am pleased to report that although the trips were challenging we all worked as a team and were successful in passing.

I am looking forward to taking part in the Gold Award to experience pushing myself outside my comfort zone further.

We are delighted to hear that this young man has successfully completed his Silver Award and wish him every success for Gold.
