We were delighted to hear that all the Covid tests were negative and Lauren has jetted off to take part in the World Cheer leading Competition in Florida. The JTYAF made this trip possible and we wish her and the team every success. We look forward to hearing all about it!

The new Jubilee Fund of £33,000 has been made available to local schools to support the mental health and well being of young people in our community. Applications are in and we are absolutely delighted to receive requests for funding support for so many outstanding projects which will make a real difference to the lives of local youngsters.

The Seniors Captain of Dudsbury Golf Club, Rob Berry, selected the John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation (JTYAF) as his ‘Charity of the Year’ in 2020 and due to the restrictions with Covid the partnership ran for two years.

The Trustees of the John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation had their first face to face meeting for 2 years last Saturday and they agreed to allocate a staggering £101,550 for awards for local youngsters in 2022. This included a new £33,000 Jubilee Fund for local school children, in celebration of the Queen’s 70 years on the throne.

The JTYAF were delighted to award 2 scholarships and 4 bursaries to Ferndown Upper School students at the end of last year. Forty four students were able to benefit from JTYAF funding in 2021 and the quality or the applications was outstanding.
