A young member of Weymouth Taekwondo Club has been awarded a grant so he can pursue his passion and represent Great Britain. 

A local Air Cadet from 171 Squadron (Christchurch) has been awarded a grant to help towards achieving his bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award.

The Dorset Fire and Rescue Service Cadets Scheme have been awarded funding for the 3rd year running for the European Exchange visit where Dorchester Fire Cadets selected from the recent 20-week course will host French and German Fire Cadets. 

Pupils at Parley First School have enjoyed a school trip to Leeson House Outdoor Pursuit Centre to participate in a range of activities including coastal walking and orienteering as part of a grant from the JTYAF.

The 3rd Ferndown District Brownies have been awarded a grant by the JTYAF to support a PGL adventure trip to the Isle of Wight. We look forward to seeing the exciting activities the Brownies have been up to upon their return.

In July this year, the group will travel to a Soweto township where they will work with the Urban Rebuild Project to build 2 houses, run a children’s club and help at an AIDS clinic in the community.

A brother and sister duo from Gillingham have been awarded a grant to help them achieve their DoE awards. 

George, a young member of the Dorset Expedition Society, has been awarded a grant towards a Trans Andes Expedition to Ecuador this summer. He was chosen for the team after a gruelling selection weekend in Dartmoor to test both mental and physical endurance along with his leadership skills and motivation.

24 Dorset and Wiltshire Air Cadets have been awarded funding to support The Nijmegan International Four Days March. It is the largest multi-day walking event in the world with Royal Patronage with more than 42,000 participants walking 100 miles over 4 days in Nijmegan and the surrounding area.

A talented 10-year old student at Ferndown Middle School has been awarded a grant to support his passion of taekwondo. He has already achieved his Black belt in Team Tigers and a green belt in Juniors. His dream is to compete at international level.
