As the Foundation approaches five years since its formation in March, it is expected that awards of over £230,000 will have supported more than 500 young people by the end of 2013. 

The JTYAF is supporting two teams of Cadets from the Air Training Corps to undertake the 2013 Ten Tors Expedition on Dartmoor. Each team will have six Cadets.  

Nine local Guides will attend Castervaria County Camp supported by bursaries from the JTYAF.

The JTYAF was delighted to present  awards to Dean Wilcox, Liam O'Leary and Adam West who took part in the Dorset Fire And Rescue Service Cadets Course at Christchurch Fire Station. 

Ferndown Jitsu Club are sending eight adults and five juniors to the Edinburgh Jitsu Championships and the JTYAF is delighted to support Ferndown Upper School students Jordan Lea, Connor Riley, Liam Read and Joseph and Matthew Trussell with their expenses for this competition.

A young Brownie from Three Legged Cross Brownies made an application for funding to buy some gym mats so that she and her Brownie friends could enjoy developing their gymnastic skills and achieve their Agility Badge. 

JTYAF Scholarships and Bursaries were presented to 36 outstanding students from Ferndown Upper School who will be taking part in a whole range of activities from volunteering in Cambodia and Ghana,  to Zoo Keeping Courses and attendance at International Basketball Competitions.
