Beaucroft Foundation School is a school for pupils with moderate learning difficulties, many of whom have additional complex difficulties and/or disabilities, mainly autistic spectrum disorders or sensory impairments. The school provides specialist provision for the eastern region of Dorset. The JTYAF was delighted to award funding to the school for the first time in 2011.
Awards are made by nomination. There is therefore no application process.
The JTYAF supports young people from a wide range of youth organisations providing them with scholarships and bursaries to support their personal development and the pursuit of their ambitions.
The John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation (JTYAF) was set up in memory of John Thornton who was tragically killed in Afghanistan in 2008.
The JTYAF provides opportunities for young people to help them to develop as individuals and fulfil their ambitions in life as John was able to do.
